Top 5 Restaurants In Greenwood, IN

1. Revery

Revery is Greenwood’s go-to gastropub, a top-tier eatery located in the heart of Old Town that offers an innovative take on American cuisine. When crafting the menu, the culinary team had the goal of elevating classic dishes by creating new and adventurous flavor profiles. Take the pork chops for example— the meat is cooked to perfection and topped with guajillo cream sauce, mango Peruvian pepper jam, and served alongside roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Or consider the elaborate scallop entrée, an intrepid combo of braised pork belly, roasted baby carrots, poblano sweet corn purée, tomato jam, balsamic reduction, and popcorn shoots. This is just a small taste of the menu’s offerings. Finish the meal off with one of three dessert options: banoffee jar pie (a British creation made with bananas and graham crackers), crème brûlée, or panna cotta with a dash of peach sauce. The Revery menu will take you on a true culinary adventure.

Chef Debbie Bennet and her husband Scott took a bold leap in 2010 by purchasing a failing restaurant on Madison Avenue called “Yokohama.” Within months, after infusing the business with new life and fresh vision, the Japanese sushi bar achieved a level of success that eluded the previous owners. Today, Yokohama is one of Greenwood’s most well-loved restaurants, with fans driving in from all parts of the city to experience their comprehensive menu. Their sushi is known locally as some of the freshest in the neighborhood and devotees often highlight the volcano roll, the sweetheart roll, and yellowtail sashimi. For patrons who crave alternatives to sushi, the menu is filled with dishes from different parts of Asia like the Thai spicy soup, Korean tofu soup, and Japanese fried rice. Lucky for residents of Westminster Apartments, the restaurant is only a short 5-minute drive from the community.

Charming, welcoming, and homey— these are just some of the words used to describe the one-of-a-kind atmosphere at Vino Villa. Located in Old Town just off Madison Ave, and situated inside of a historic residential home, the Italian-inspired bistro has all the ingredients needed to bring people together: delicious food, internationally recognized wine, and great company. The most popular items on the menu are the pizza and pasta dishes. Carnivores will love the “Sicilian Meats” pizza packed with pepperoni, Italian sausage, capicola, and salami. For the vegetarians, Vino Villa offers a stellar margherita pizza as well as the “Goat In The Garden,” a veggie heavy pizza made with eggplant, red pepper, squash, zucchini, red onion, and goat cheese. In terms of pasta, the audience favorites are the traditional meat lasagna, the shrimp and lobster mac n’ cheese, and the seafood ravioli. Vino Villa is undoubtedly one of Greenwood’s coziest eateries.

There’s nothing quite like Korean hot pot. Something about tending to your favorite meats while they cook inside of a simmering broth really makes you feel like you’ve earned each and every mouthwatering bite. K-Town Korean BBQ & Hot Pot sits around the corner from Westminster Apartments just off Highway 31, offering an authentic Korean dining experience chock full of bulgogi, kimchi, and richly flavored broths. The best part about dining at K-Town is the wonderful smells that rise from the flat top at the center of the table. Patrons will enjoy choosing from a long list of fresh meats and placing them on the BBQ with a sizzle. On top of this, the restaurant features a comprehensive salad bar and boba drinks that pair perfectly with the warm meal. K-Town is the perfect place to celebrate with groups, as they cater well to birthdays, corporate outings, and other large gatherings. Our recommendation is to show up hungry because the menu is all-you-can-eat.

Aside from the welcoming atmosphere, the craft brews on taps, and the cordial staff, the key selling point at Main Street Grille is the wood-fired pizzas. They are hand made to order and cooked at 800°F inside of a wood burning oven that glows from the center of the restaurant. The result is a 10/10 pizza with a delectable char around the edges that adds a unique flavor to every bite. The consistent favorites are: 1) the “Jalapeno Popper Pizza” topped with mozzarella, ricotta, bacon, jalapenos, and a homemade spicy cheese sauce, 2) the “Boston Special” layered with pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom, and 3) the “Greek,” which combines mozzarella, red onion, kalamata olives, tomatoes, and feta cheese. The menu doesn’t end there though, Main Street Grille also offers some of Greenwood’s tastiest chicken wings, jam-packed burgers, delicious entrées, and much more. Best of all, Westminster Apartments residents can be there with a quick 10-minute drive.

Old City Park

As the name suggests, Old City Park is a 100-year-old historic space that underwent a major revitalization in 2020. Today, it sits alongside the Greenwood Public Library as a shining testament to the enduring spirit of Greenwood and its people. The centerpiece of the park is the highly creative, multi-colored playground with Picasso-like features perfect for jumping, climbing, and sliding. The design mixes concrete and metal with natural beauty. The gentle waters of Pleasant Creek cut through the middle and separate the north end of the park from the south. There’s also a hilly section called the “Native Prairie Meadow” that highlights flowers, plants, and wildlife that are native to Indiana. Features like the bocce ball courts, the “G” shaped bike racks (referring to Greenwood, of course) and the built-in, stationary foosball tables make Old City Park one of Indianapolis’ most unique spots for outdoor recreation.

Hoosier Brewing Company

Hoosier Brewing Company is a recent addition to Old Town Greenwood that has quickly grown in popularity since it’s opening in 2019. They produce craft brews and kombucha that are nationally recognized for both quality and taste. Hoosier provides all your favorite styles— lagers, IPA’s, stouts, and ales, but are famous for their sours, including flavors like strawberry shortcake, pina colada soft serve, and cotton candy. The kitchen also serves some of Greenwood’s tastiest pizza, which pairs perfectly with the drinks. Aside from the beer and pizza, the other big draw at Hoosier is the 6 lanes of axe throwing. There’s an even an axe throwing league complete with rules, regulation, and cash prizes for the winners.

Planetary Brewing Company

Craft beer is going galactic! Planetary Brewing Company, located in Old Town serves up homemade brews in a tap room decorated with images of Jupiter, Saturn, and floating asteroids. The long line of taps behind the bar feature adventurous flavor profiles like the “Strange Planet Java Mint Stout,” brewed with real peppermint patties, and the “Lemon Blueberry Chemtrails,” a cream ale infused with lemon and blueberry. If you want to cover the most ground, the best strategy is to order a flight, which allows you to sample multiple beers in one sitting. Make sure to check out the menu as well— the “Satellite Kitchen” cooks up fresh takes on barroom classics like salted caramel pretzel bites and a blackened bacon grilled cheese. Planetary Brewing also hosts events throughout the week, with the most popular being the comedy open mic on Tuesday and the Thursday night trivia where you they offer discounts on pints. This where beer fans and space nerds unite.
